American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled sexual identity and race with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training.
